Tropical Storm Moke is holding steady as it approaches the Hawaiian Islands, bringing heavy rainfall and gusty winds over the weekend and into early next week.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the storm's center is located approximately 595 miles southeast of Hilo, Hawai‘i, moving west-northwest at 12 mph.

Impact & Risks

The Big Island is expected to experience the most significant impacts, including life-threatening flooding and mudslides, particularly in windward and southeastern areas with steep terrain. Maui and other islands may see localized flooding due to heavy rainfall. Gusty winds are likely in areas of higher terrain, and dangerous surf conditions are expected along exposed east and south-facing shores. Residents in recently affected areas, such as those impacted by Lala, should remain vigilant as saturated ground increases the risk of landslides.
